On Saturday the 15th of October eight stallions successfully completed their saddle test. They are going to continue with the in-harness tests on the 12th of November. One stallion, Hidde fân Stal Bellefleur Star (Meinte 490 x Thorben 466), has been granted a respite to do his saddle test later on in the Central Examination because he was slightly irregular in movement.

Quality across the board

With good interest from the audience and in a wonderful accommodation (fully prepared for an auction later in the day) in Exloo, the stallions were neatly presented to the Jury by four lady riders. The nine remaining stallions do not only show a fine diversity in sires, but their performances in the saddle test also reveal a wide spectrum of qualities. Hielke L.W. Star (Jurre 495) achieved the highest score with 87 points, with an 8.5 for trot, canter and transitions. The ones with the best walk turned out to be Jurre v.d. Arebo Hoeve Star (Ulbrân 502 x Epke 474) and Hylbrand van Swichem Star (Haike 482 x Stendert 447), who received an 8. In canter five stallions scored an 8 or higher.
