On Saturday the 23rd of September Marc Peter Spahn and Elias 494 secured the victory in the Heavy Tour of the Zeeuwse Verzekeringen KFPS Dressage Championship at the Nationaal Hippisch Centrum in Ermelo.

Ambassador Friesian horse

His more than 70% score in the Grand Prix marks the end of this KFPS Studbook stallion’s competition career, as Peter announced after they had received the Champion sash. ‘After six years at the highest dressage level the time has come to take a step back’, said a clearly emotional Peter, whose announcement that his victory in the Dutch Championship in Ermelo heralded Elias 494’s last competition appearance, came as a complete surprise for the audience. ‘Today is a fine day for a final lap of honour as Champion.’ The 14-year-old international dressage star was a true ambassador in dressage sports, in the national as well as the international circuit, and the flagship of the Friesian horse.

Silver for Olmo, Bronze for Parel

In the Heavy tour Silver went to Mark van Leeuwen with Olmo Fan S (Uldrik 457) who totted down almost 67% in the Inter II, with Bronze going to Nienke Schrale and Parel (Goffert 369) after a 63.6% score.
