The 14-year-old KFPS Studbook stallion Epke 474 Sport Elite AAA is going to continue his career in the Middle-East. On Sunday the 21st of May he arrived at the yard of his new owners in Qatar, who are now the proud owners of the first approved KFPS Studbook stallion on the Arabian peninsula.
Airconditioned stabling
‘It was a difficult decision, he has been with us from the time of his approval, which is eleven years’, says Jan Folmer of De Nieuwe Heuvel, adding that Epke 474 is going to a very good place. ‘He’ll be stabled in a very good yard with airconditioned boxes and he’ll be catered for down to a T in every detail.’ The new owners have Arabian horses and were keen to have a Friesian stallion. With his abundant feathers and gorgeous small, expressive head this Beart 411 son out of a Star mare by Anton 343 has won their hearts.
Beautiful heads, lots of breed expression
Epke 474 has nearly 1200 registered offspring who catch the eye with lots of breed expression and noble heads. He has produced fourteen Crown mares and one Model mare, his Star percentage is 51%. Nine offspring have made it to Sport, two horses have earned the Sport Elite predicate. Epke 474 himself was active in the Light Tour with his regular rider Sabine van de Loenhorst. Still missing on his CV is an approved son, but there are still some stallions in the pipeline and they have retained a supply of frozen semen from Epke 474 for future use, De Nieuwe Heuvel informs us.
