Filly foal Theia (Auwert 514) wins in Switzerland (with video)

The just over 7-month-old filly foal Theia da Monico (Auwert 514 x Wytse 462) was decorated with the Champion rosette of the inspection in Switzerland on Saturday the 1st of October.

Jury members Sabien Zwaga and Marissa Visser were full of praise for Theia’s fine conformation and gave her a first premium. Her breeder and owner Regula Monico can look back on a very good inspection. In the 3-year-old category Lia da Monico Star (Tiede 501 x Maurus 441) was accepted with a Star second premium. Lia and Theia both stem from André Ydema’s Ygrek breeding stud and in Lobke Y Star Preferent (Nammen 308), who is the dam of Bente 412 and Fridse 423, they hark back to the same third dam.

Star mare Barinja Champion

Claudia Steffen’s mare Chica Jede Star (Haike 482 x Onne 376) made promotion in the Studbook mare category. The breed-typical 6-year-old Chica already proved to have a good walk and light-footed trot in her IBOP of 76 points. Chica was bred by Stal Jede from Vledder out of Model Sport Preferent Performance mare Resa S., who can now welcome her sixth Star offspring. There was just one mare who made the mark for the Champion Title: Barinja van Aeueli Star AA (Jasper 366 x Gjalt 426), owned by David Buehler. This 6-year-old earned the fine score of 80.5 for her IBOP with an 8 for her good walk. In doing so she improved herself by 3.5 points compared to her previous IBOP. Barinja could be a little richer in terms of breeding type but she really convinced in movement. She received an 8 for the walk and for her trot an 8.5, which resulted in a first premium for this Star mare who didn’t make it to Crown mainly because she was lacking in breeding type.

23-year-old first-premium gelding

The fine quality at the inspection continued with the stallions and geldings. With great pleasure the Jury members awarded a first premium to the well-kept 23-year-old gelding Wotan vom Neidhof Star (Fabe 348 x Ruerd 319), owned by J. Hamzai. In addition to this the 4-year-old breed-typical Hermes da Monico Star (Alwin 469 x Andries 415) became Star and earned the Champion Title for stallions, which meant another Championship for successful breeder Regula Monico.
