All Friesian horse lovers can now really put a big line in the agenda next year on Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 January: the Stallion show will continue! Without an audience, but online. That means three days of enjoyment in front of the screen of a television, tablet or telephone.
Consequences of lockdown
Last week it was still quite exciting. What are the consequences of the general lockdown in the Netherlands for the Stallion Show? After heavy consultation with all parties involved and responsible authorities, the green light has been given. With due observance of the rules surrounding Covid-19 it is possible to make a live stream, or rather to organize a live broadcast. Omrop Fryslân will run the cameras in Drachten for three days, from where the HK will travel all over the world in four languages.
Young stallions and studbook stallions
In the program, Thursday and Friday are reserved for the second viewing of the young stallions. After the first round in mid-December, 112 stallions have been included in the selection for step two on the way to a possible career as a studbook stallion. Saturday is dedicated to the KFPS studbook stallions and there are a number of surprising items included in the program that day. Reason enough to take a seat. Although most people prefer to admire the Friesian horses from the stands, it is great that we have succeeded in offering an alternative. According to tradition, 2021 will start well with one of the most beautiful events of the year!
