At the Online Stallion Inspection 2021 YoungKFPS elected Marije Schreven as Young Breeder of the Year 2020. This earns Marije, who’s based in Limburg, the prize of a stud service of her choice, to the value of € 1000 which was made available by the KFPS.
400 YoungKFPS members
Every year YoungKFPS presents this award during the Central Inspection. This year the Central Inspection didn’t take place because of Covid 19. So the prize was presented during the Stallion Inspection by YoungKFPS Chairman Sietske Veenje. From the 400 members of YoungKFPS it was Marije who turned out to be the most successful young breeder. Even though she has only been into breeding Friesian horses for a mere five years, she has already reaped quite some successes. Last year two of her mares were awarded a first premium. Her 4-year-old mare Bieke (Alwin 469 x Teeuwis 369 )– who has already scored 77 points and her AA in the IBOP – promptly received the Crown predicate. The other mare, her full sister Femmie (Alwin 469 x Teeuwis 369) became Preliminary Crown. ‘Marije was way out in front’, Sietske states.
Full list of Young Breeders of the Year
Marije follows in the footsteps of a number of successful YoungKFPS Breeders of the Year. In the previous year the award – which was presented for the first time in 2016 – went to Antonia Derksen, the year before that the Title of Young Breeder of the Year was for Stan Derksen and before that the lucky winners were Antoinet Michel and Jildert Herder.
